The Spectrum Memo: a conversation with Mark
NECN did a 5-minute feature on us last night. Really great, shows who we are helping and what we do.-Mark
I was on Vermont Public Radio with two Spectrum youth a few weeks ago, a live half hour interview, I thought it went well, and last week a Jon Abrams from Stowe called here to tell us that he had listened to the show and a few days later was pulled over by a policeman for speeding. The officer told him, “I could give you a ticket but will give you a warning instead, but I want you to now go and do something nice for someone else.” So Mr. Abrams donated $150 to Spectrum, telling us, “Please write to this officer (he gave us his name) and tell him I heard Mark Redmond on VPR and that I donated what I would have paid in a ticket to an organization helping homeless youth.” We accepted the donation and wrote to the officer to give him the news.
You never know who is listening to you on the radio I guess and how it will affect listeners and perhaps benefit Spectrum. Like this time.
Thank you Mr. Abrams and thank you Mr. Policeman!
