Nice email from a Burlington police lieutenant

Just wanted to recognize a job well done on behalf of Joanna Gattuso this evening. At approximately 5:00pm we were called to the Marketplace for a man reportedly knocking over trash cans, smashing windows and pushing a woman to the ground. We later learned the 19 year old man did not smash any windows, nor did he assault anyone. His behavior was found to be troubling to say the least and was subsequently charged with disorderly conduct and unlawful mischief.
During our encounter with the suspect, Joanna was informative about what had happened, provided helpful insight and stayed with us throughout the process. At one point, it seemed as though the suspect was not going to leave peacefully, but Joanna was successful in convincing him to do so. We appreciated Joanna’s individual effort and that of Spectrum Youth Services in helping bring this matter to a safe conclusion for everyone involved. 2009-029666
