Nice message from a donor

Friday, July 22nd, 2011

Received this lovely note from Sara Byers, a donor and part of the Clothes Exchange team after she toured through Spectrum recently: “Thank you so much for taking the time to walk us through Spectrum. I was very moved by your words and incredibly impressed with all you do for our community. It was an absolute pleasure to meet members of your team. Thanks again!”

Here is another Mutual of Omaha Aha Moment video, this time done by Patrick, who has worked with the young men in our Murray St group home for several years and later this month will transition to our JOBS program. What he says here is very inspiring. We are fortunate to have him as part of our organization.

Spectrum selected as #1 nonprofit social media proponent in Burlington

Friday, July 1st, 2011

I don’t know who nominated us, but 36 hours ago I stumbled upon a contest to select the best nonprofit in town in terms of social media use. And there we were, Spectrum. We started tweeting and posting and emailing, and in the end finished on top! This is a great tribute to our development team, which two years ago got ahead of the curve and started pushing our message of hope and nonviolence into the world through social media. They made this happen, and an as-yet-to-be-announced monetary prize is headed our way as well for this honor.
